Team progress for April 6th training at the Coast

The ferries get cancel due to high winds, and what does the r2s training team do at the coast, we go for a training ride.  (Winds were up to 70 kmh)
The high winds and cross winds we experienced will help prepare us for ride day for all weather, and yes, we have had these kinds of winds in the past coming down thru the snow shed and on Hwy 7.
Learning to anchor the butt in the saddle, engage the core , and power the legs, is all part of riding in the wind.

60 riders  (one came all the way from Kamloops to train with us today)

2 SAG vehicles, manned by Simon, Satbir, Craig and Vicki
A visit to see Nancy and give her a gentle hug.
The team rode a 90 km loop from Delta, Surrey, S. Surrey, White Rock, Langley and back
8 flats, a few chain and fender issues.
This training ride was about getting us into more climbing with rolling hills along crescent road and some steep climbs on 184, Zero and Station Hill.
Thank you to all who were able to ride with us.  You are building a strong team together. This will help us on ride day.
Also, thanks to Rich for the route and the ride captains, and EMT's for the extra help.
Hoping the out town’ers were able to get out for a ride this weekend too.  Submit a blog and let us know how you are doing and feeling with your training.

Stronger together on ride day is our motto.

Next ride is Port Moody/Belcarra and SFU bound - Sunday, April 14.

Remember April is The Canadian Cancer Society's Daffodil Month.  Get your daffodil pin and write a name(s) on the pedals for those you are doing this for.
